Last Frigidaire Gallery lasted 14 years before it died; happy with it before then. This new one is counter depth, which we love, but still has lots of space. Lighting is brighter, seems to run a bit colder at same temp; generally all working fine. Looks good. I just hope it last as long as last one (since I was told by service tech when last one died that they usually last only 6-7 years!).

Still getting adjusted to the counter depth design. Prefer regular but space in recently purchased house does not allow for a regular depth. The counter depth drawback for me is the doors have to be fully opened to be able to open the drawers. Would be nice to have a handle to pull to close. Also may be having an issue with appropriate temperature. Items freezing in refrigerator side.

This is our first side by side, and first with ice and water - so keep that in mind. We love the ice and water - and the design does not limit the freezer space much. That said - I am learning to adapt to the small space a side by side gives you to work with - having had the top/bottom style before. It is an adjustment! e.g., can no longer freeze berries a cookie tray at a time, as a cookie tray will not fit.

We are currently affected by hurricane Helene and are living off of a power chord running to a neighbor™€™s house. The refrigerator must be sipping electric, as we have had no problems. There is an annoying, regular beep when we lose power and it comes back on until the ™€˜fridge reaches the set temperature (happens several times/day). Other than that, grateful to have a working ™€˜fridge.

We have always been very happy with previous Frigidaire appliances purchases. This will probably be our last. The retailer we bought this refrigerator from had to delivery a different one 3 times due to scratches. The scratches were not caused by the retailer. It was obvious the scratches happened at the factory since the shrinkwrap and packing material had no damage or tears. Another issue with the shrinkwrap.... Obviously at the factory the wrap was put on before the water and ice dispenser panel was installed. No way to get it all off without damaging or scratching the door. I should have looked closer at the reviews of other buyers. Common problem.The next issue....Had the full description of the water dispenser been indicated on the label or on the Frigidaire website I would have not purchased this. I specifically wanted the ice and water dispenser on the door as I have in past purchases. This is the only refrigerator I've had that does not have chilled water dispensed. Barely room temp. This information is only listed in the manual and the buyer does not receive the manual until delivery. I should never accepted delivery and instead purchased a different brand.

Side by Side SS Fridge

Lost trust in Frigid 9/22/2024

I purchased this fridge because I needed a counter depth fridge to replace the one that died. My old fridge was this exact model. The new redesign is AWFUL. The drawers are smaller and the fruit/vegetable bins hit the seal on the door which means I have to pull out the fridge to access the bins. The storage on the door is different too. The bottom one is so narrow it is practically useless. There is only one shelf that is deep, the others are a different size. The freezer is smaller and I do appreciate the ice maker was moved to the left but wish it was completely in the door so there would be another shelf. It is difficult to see how much ice is in the ice maker; you have to pull it out. The ice cubes are smaller and square so they melt quicker. The old freezer made rectangular ice and it was easy to see inside the ice maker. The fridge is loud when the water is cycling through the ice maker. The water is no longer chilled when using the dispenser. I also wish they redesigned the handles to be recessed which would look more contemporary and help with the counter depth space. Note: Don't buy from Lowe's. They did not honor a price change that was $100 cheaper just 12 days after my purchase. Also they did not order replacement fridge storage shelves that were damaged.
